Dubrovnik, Croatia
Hiking and Nature Walks: If you visit Lopud in the late spring or early autumn you'll still be treated to warm weather but with less tourists crowding your favourite hiking tracks. This island off the coast of Dalmatia has many scenic trails to follow, like the walk to Šunj and the uphill hike to see the hilltop ruins of an old fortress.
Cultural and Historical Exploration: One of local historical treasures is a 15th-centyry Franciscan monastery, lovingly restored and surrounded by quiet gardens and a calming atmosphere. Look out for artefacts, art and architecture - this is a must-see for anyone with even a slight interest in the island's local history.
Seek Out Lopud’s Beaches: As you might expect with any Croatian island, the beaches rank highly among Lopud's most enticing attractions. The island has one of the only sandy beaches in the Dubrovnik region. It's family-friendly and shallow, with waters that are perfect for both swimming and paddleboarding. On the opposite side of the island, you'll also find the port, which can be reached by riding a golf buggy across an inland track. Closer to the village you can also find sheltered and less busy beaches ideal for lounging out and cooling off.
'One of the highlights of Lopud's culinary scene is Dalmàr at Hotel Lafodia - where we stay!'

This is an elegant sit-down restaurant, known for its refined dining and incredible seaward views from a terrace overlooking the bay. Expect a selection of Italian-inspired dishes, varieties of fresh meat and fish, specially prepared by Chef Tommaso Balduccio.
Explore The Waterfront: No visit to this island is complete without exploring Lopud village and seeking out its many charming cafés, restaurants, and shops selling colourful souvenirs. You can stroll freely along the seafront promenade and take in the local attractions, relishing a slower pace of life, adrift from the bustle of a more crowded world.
Hit The Water!: Of course, here are more ways to enjoy the sea than simply by swimming. You can also kayak, rent small boats, or book snorkelling excursions to nearby spots along the coastline. Lopud serves up no shortage of adventures for active travellers and those looking to get salty as they explore more of the Adriatic Sea.
