Supplier Relationship Manager

About the role

We are looking for a quality Supplier Relationship Manager to join our team, based in our offices in Brighton, UK. You will be working within our Product Department, focussing on contracting suppliers located around the world. This is a key role in ensuring excellent relationships with suppliers and ensuring our guests have positive experiences when on a SwimTrek trip. The role is responsible for managing all aspects our supplier relations, including sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing the relationship with existing suppliers. To be successful in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator, able to build relationships and solve problems across language and cultural barriers, in person and through email and telephone calls. Our preferred candidate will come with ideas and energy to help SwimTrek maintain its position as a global leader in this niche adventure travel sector.

Specifically, you will:

  • Report to the Product Manager at SwimTrek;
  • Take ownership of new and existing Service Level Agreements and the quality of service provided by suppliers;
  • Hold regular meetings with suppliers to ensure service levels are being met and that due diligence is performed;
  • Instigate and develop action plans to remedy poor supplier performance and manage these plans through to successful conclusion;
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve and develop innovative ideas around new and existing products, improve supply chains and generate additional value for all concerned;
  • Maintain high-standard administration practices for both physical and digital information, minimising errors;
  • Ensure all revenue opportunities are identified through analysing commercial reports/data, and that all potential opportunities or issues are raised and followed through;

Personal profile

  • Advanced negotiation skills and knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies;
  • Proven experience of delivering savings and managing collaborative relationships with partners and key suppliers;
  • Strong strategic awareness and execution and a solution-led approach to driving growth. Able to identify the key challenges and problems and then create a plan to tackle them;
  • Can track ROI and evolve tactics as results change. Excellent analytic and reporting skills are essential, plus a high level of commercial awareness;

  • Knows where to get the right answers – even if they don’t know them themselves;
  • Has a desire to self-learn, seek new opportunities and is aware of current and future trends within adventure travel;
  • Desire to drive growth in specific countries and proven international experience;
  • It is essential that you have a can-do attitude and a positive approach, including flexibility and adaptability and the ability to remain composed under pressure;
  • A natural multi-tasker, you will operate in an organised and structured manner; be detail driven and capable of producing outstanding quality work at all times;
  • Has a passion for adventure travel and understands the market sector.
