Get ready for the ultimate itinerary of Greek swimming holidays to pack 2026 with sunlit memories...
Your endless Greek summer starts here! For the first time, we've laid out our full calendar of Greek island adventures this year. Most are Classic 7-day trips with a relaxing YogaSwim and a more adventurous series of Long Swims thrown in for good measure. In the past, simply mentioning the words 'Greek islands' has brought you in droves to our channels. Now, we're bringing you all our available island getaways, strung together across a single year - so, you can hop between them until you're fully salted, suntanned and sea-pruned.
Get ready for the clearest Mediterranean waters, underwater topography to make you stop and exhale bubbles, cliff-edged coastal swims, island circumnavigations and sites entangled with epic poetry and mythical tales still woven into modern-day civilisation.
In order to combine your trips, one after another, we've created the following flow*, threading you through the summer of 2026 from the sunbaked Cyclades to the blue-green surrounds of the Ionian Islands:

Greek Cyclades
- Dates: 23-29 May
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
Leap off your boat into the crystalline grip of the Aegean. Swim freely along the chalky coastlines of the Cyclades, where white cliffs, rocky headlands, and hidden coves shape a seascape you will never forget. Over two decades ago, this was also the birthplace of SwimTrek and there's plenty of good reasons we still keep coming back here! The Cyclades hosted our very first trip in 2003, and we’re still learning more about the beauty of this enchanting Mediterranean archipelago.
Getting There: To start the trip, guests usually fly into Athens and then fly again to Náxos (the nearest airport to Schinoussa, which is only a ferry ride away from there). Direct flights leave from Athens airport to Náxos via Olympic Air. Please find their full list of <a href="www.olympicair.com" target="blank">flight schedules here._
"Each day swimming in the Aegean Sea was remarkable and beautiful. Every day I had to pinch myself. Was I really in this beautiful environment provided by SwimTrek? I can't wait to sign up for another." - Holly, USA (2025)

Milos Explorer – Long Swims
- Dates: 30 May-5 June
- 7 days
- Up to 8km/day (Challenging Grading)
After relaxation in the sunlit Cyclades, you could put your sea endurance to the test, joining longer swims in the Aegean. In Milos, we will lean more about this Moon-like Greek island, roaming the coastlines and seeking more opportunities to meet local marine animals, including sea turtles, reef fish, octopi and, if you’re very lucky, the endangered Mediterranean monk seal.
Alternatively, our first Milos Explorer departure runs from 6 June to 12 June - so, you could always miss the longer swims and delay your arrival after leaving the Cyclades.
Getting There: If you're joining us here, there are daily 40-minute direct flights to Milos from Athens (see Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, or Sky Express) if you land there. Ferry companies run daily services from Schinoussa to Milos via the Cycladic hub of either Naxos or Paros as well.

Alternative Option Crete Discovery
- Dates: 31 May-6 June
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
Another option, after leaving the Cyclades in late May, is to continue your adventure in Crete into early June. You will arrive in time for our second departure of the year - ready to enter the vivid waters of the Mediterranean’s southernmost reaches and soak up coastal swims among the region's dramatic ‘White Mountains’.
Getting There: The trip is based in Porto Loutro and we can only get there by ferry, water taxi or hiking. Flying into Chania Airport is the best option, followed by a public bus or taxi ride to the port at Chora Sfakia. After that we will arrive by ferry or water taxi in Porto Loutro. There are flights from Chania to Náxos operated by Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air, and Sky Express.
"Crete discovery was in every way perfect, have come back feeling exercised but very zen!" - Lynne, UK (2025)

YogaSwim Crete
- Dates: 14-20 June
- 7 days
- Up to 3km/day (Leisurely Grading)
Take a break and rest with yoga sessions among the sunlit cliffs and glittering waters of southernmost Europe. During this trip, we will dive into idyllic coastal swims as you explore the Greek island of Crete. Seek out isolated coves, bays and beaches before retiring to our base in the remote town of Chora Sfakion - at the heart of mountainous Sfakiá!
Getting There: This trip is based in the remote town of Chora Sfakion, which is an hour-and-a-half drive from Chania International Airport. Again, you can fly from Náxos if you're fresh from the salty Cyclades. Hotel Panorama, where we stay, is reachable from the airport via public bus or local taxi. It is also possible to fly through Athens to Chania, however, this results in a significantly longer journey time.

Greek Cyclades – Short Swims
- Dates: 4-10 July
- 7 days
- Up to 3km/day (Leisurely Grading)
You have a few weeks to relax and reflect before this fresh opportunity opens up to enjoy a more leisurely pace of Greek island life. We return in early July to the Greek Cyclades for an itinerary of shorter swims - an ideal add-on after a week of yoga and swimming in Crete, especially if you joined this itinerary after our first trip. This is your way to experience island-hopping and coastal swims in a small group. Slide under volcanic arches, weave through sea caves, and trace the dramatic, rocky shorelines of these ancient islands.
Getting There: Aegean Airlines, Sky Express, and Ryanair offer hour-long flights from Chania to Athens. Then you can fly on to Náxos and take a ferry to Schinoussa.
"I can't recommend this trip more highly! The water was crystal clear, with lots of marine life to spot, the guides were excellent and the boat provision was wonderful. I made friends for life in the other guests, and it truly was one of the best weeks away I've ever had." - Rachel, UK (2025)

Paxos Explorer - Greece
- Dates: 12-18 September
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
One of our new locations! Visit unspoilt Paxos, cast adrift from Corfu, and discover its place in Greek mythology as a romantic retreat for Poseidon and his beloved Amphitrite. Here we will enjoy adventure swims you’ll remember forever, like the crossing between Antipaxos to Paxos and a circumnavigation of Antipaxos’ wild coast as well. You’ll even have a chance to visit a few of the island’s famous ‘Blue Caves’.
Getting There: With current availability, there's roughly a two-month wait between the end of our Cyclades Short Swims and the next Paxos departure with space. So, you might want to fly home from Athens first or settle into the relaxing pace of life in the Cyclades. For the Paxos trip, guests fly to Corfu and catch a connecting ferry to the island.

Alternative Option Greek Sporades
- Dates: 12-18 September
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
Another option, if you prefer this offering to Paxos, is to make your way to the Greek Sporades. Departures are leaving at the same time with spaces also available from 12 September. This is your chance to explore the stunning waters of Europe’s largest marine protected area - the National Marine Park of Alonissos Northern Sporades, which is a haven of unspoilt beauty.
Getting There: The only way to reach the island of Alonissos is by sea. The Hotel Levantes sits on a low rise overlooking the harbour and ferry Port of Patitiri. There are various options for travelling to Alonissos, including ferry, catamaran, and hydrofoil connections from Volos, Skiathos, Skópelos, Salonika and Mantoudi. The closest airport is Skiathos, which is reachable with direct flights from various European airports, including Athens (it takes roughly 50 minutes).
" In daily life I have to make so many decisions. I liked very much that everything was so well organized. The Guides lead you to the best spots to swim, to eat etc and you don't have to find out yourself. For me, this is real holiday!" - Maurice, Germany (2025)

Patmos – Greece
- Dates: 26 September-2 October
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
Another new location for us! This is your chance to explore Aegean waters once sailed by Odysseus and Alexander, seeking out uninhabited islands and tranquil bays where marine life thrives. You can also visit the ‘Cave of the Apocalypse’, where St John the Apostle wrote the ‘Book of Revelation’, and walk to the hilltop monastery named in his honour.
Getting There: If you're leaving either Paxos or the Greek Sporades in mid-September, you can extend your adventure into the shallows of October by flying to Patmos. The easiest way to get there is to fly into Kos. Then you can take a transfer to the Kos town ferry port and catch a public ferry to Patmos. There is a public bus that runs from the airport to the main town of Kos, which is just a short walk to the ferry port.

Ithaca Odyssey – Greece
- Dates: 3-9 October
- 7 days
- Up to 5km/day (Moderate Grading)
Fresh from the small island of Patmos, you can find another modern-day refuge in the form of Ithaca - fifth largest of the gorgeous Ionian islands. Crawl freely on coastal swims beside sheer cliffs and discover secret islands and bays, scattered between Kefalonia and the mainland. The islands here are dotted with cedar trees, and the waters are home to a local population of rare Mediterranean monk seals.
Getting There: Vathy is where we stay at either Hotel Mentor or Captain Yiannis. This is the capital of Ithaca and the largest settlement on the island. The easiest way to get there is to fly to Kefalonia, take a transfer to the ferry port of Sami and catch a public ferry to Pisaetos (Ithaca).

Alternative Option Ionian Explorer – Greece
- Dates: 4-10 October
- 7 days
- Up to 4km/day (Moderate Grading)
Finally, another option to the above, which involves flying from Kos after your time in Patmos ends on 2 October and arriving for the launch of our next Ionian Explorer trip on 4 October. The Ionian Islands offer a veritable playground for swimmers, with exciting circumnavigations and coastal swims. You will start each day in the quiet town of Sivota, and return to toast the day's adventures in local restaurants each evening.
Getting There: There are several ways to travel to Sivota, where we stay at Angela Studios. The most common route is to fly into Corfu Airport and then catch a local ferry to Port Igoumenitsa. From here, the hotel is a 30-minute taxi ride. From the airport, you will need to catch a local taxi from outside the arrivals area to Corfu Port (Kerkyra)._
"Thank you for another fabulous holiday. SwimTrek, you are the best. I am looking for my next trip already." - Sian, UK (2025)
