As you know, there are plenty of upcoming 'pioneer departures' to look forward to in our 2027 programme with more diverse offerings of the 'world's best swims' than ever before. Meanwhile, we continue to expand and refine our itineraries, supported by insights from our seasoned guides, inviting more adventurous swims and the kind of exciting unique and lesser-known locations we have become known for these past 23 years.
Swimming is the lens you can use to discover a new part of the world, travelling at water level where most other exploring visitors are unable or unwilling to go. In this way, you are privy to rare wildlife encounters, hidden natural treasures and moments of reprieve far from anxieties and bustle of everyday life.
In 2026, we celebrated our first trips to some truly incredible countries we have never swum before, including new varieties of swimming holidays too, like our SwimHikes in Norway and Ithaca. Here are some places we have loved to swim with our recent pioneers:
- SULAWESI (Indonesia): Leaving from 1 March, 2027 Swim and snorkel to uncover the biodiversity of Bunaken Marine Park – a colourful megacity of ocean life at the heart of the Coral Triangle. You can also try our Short Swims variant
- GALLEON COAST (Philippines): Thread through the Verde Island Passage, one of the world’s richest areas for marine biodiversity, exploring colourful reefs, island coastlines and thriving underwater habitats.
- KOH TAO (Thailand): Leaving from 27 February, 2027 Discover the calm archipelago of Ang Thong Marine Park, east of Koh Samui, exploring coral gardens, bursting with marine life, like turtles, angelfish, groupers, stingrays, and possibly whale sharks too.
- PAXOS (Greece): Leaving from 5 June, 2027 Visit unspoilt Paxos, cast adrift from Corfu, and used in Greek mythology as a romantic retreat for Poseidon and his beloved Amphitrite. We also have our YogaSwim Paxos for a more relaxing getaway.
- VIKING TRAIL (Norway): Experience an action-packed 7-day itinerary, exploring Råkevågen, Ramnenipa, Hardbakke, and Hersvikbygda. We even hike up Pollatinden to take in panaromic views of the whole archipelago.
- SAN PIETRO (Sardinia): Leaving from 12 June, 2027 Roam Sardinia’s southern coastline, enjoying a mix of sunlit coastal swims and crossings as we seek out the region’s best white sand beaches, coves, caves and bays.
- BACALAR (Mexico): Leaving from 27 February, 2027 - Swim the fresh water ‘Lagoon of Seven Colours’ and discover the largest freshwater microbialite reef in the world!

NEW LOCATIONS FOR 2027
AITUTAKI LAGOON (Cook Islands)
In 2027, our 7-day Aitutaki Lagoon swimming adventures leave from 3 October 2027, whisking you off to one of the world’s natural wonders, with 15 islets (‘motus’) edged by sandbars and tangled among living patches of coral gardens. A 50-minute flight from Rarotonga, this is without a doubt one of the best places to swim, dive or snorkel in the Cook Islands. Uninhabited One Foot Island sits at the southeastern edge of the lagoon, circled by white sand and offering an idyllic setting for our beach picnic.

Welcome to Rarotonga!
MARETTIMO (Italy)
Following the success of our Ithaca SwimHike, we visit the wild island of Marettimo from 8 May 2027, travelling into one of the largest marine reserves in the Mediterranean Sea, off the western coast of volcanic Sicily. On this SwimHike we will explore a living open-air museum where every trail uncovers a story and every step reveals new wonders. From soaring mountains to sculptured limestone coasts, we will seek out many of the best panoramic views Marettimo has to offer.
Our swims will take us into the Canal of Sicily, near the islands of Favignana and Levanzo, and deep into the heart of the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area. In these waters, we will discover endless fields of seagrass, grazed by shoaling small fish. We may encounter sea turtles nearer the rocky beaches, as well as dolphins, eagles rays and wreckfish on our offshore adventures.

TOLO (Greece)
This Short Escape is currently SOLD OUT and leaving from 10 June 2027. Our pioneers will join us in the beautiful bay of Tolon, first described in Homer’s Iliad for sending ships to join a Greek armada on its way to the siege of Troy. This is our base for seaborne adventures off the east coast of Peloponnese. Here, in the 50-kilometre-long Argolic Gulf, we will discover the lesser-swum waters of the Aegean, where clarity extends to incredible depths, revealing marine life like loggerhead sea turtles, bottlenose dolphins, and even the endangered Mediterranean Monk seal.
For the duration of this trip, we will stay in the seaside village of Tolo. Outside the water, you will have time to relax and sample the local cuisine, enriched by family-run tavernas serving freshly caught fish and traditional Greek dishes. Traditional Peloponnesian meals mostly include a delicious blend of seafood and vegetables, drizzled with olive oil. Also, prepare your plate for grilled fish, octopus, moussaka, and so many other delights to revive yourself after a day in the sea.

SIBU ISLAND (Malaysia)
Our Sibu Island explorers leave from 5 June 2027, headed for the east coast of Malaysia, where Pulau Sibu awaits and the Gypsy Village Resort that serves as our home for the week. Together with its neighbouring islands, Sibu sits within the protected Sultan Iskandar Marine Park – a wonderfully quiet corner of Malaysia, with warm tropical seas, colourful coral reefs and plenty of coastline to explore.
Swimming here is a special experience. We’ll spend our days exploring Sibu and the surrounding islands, mixing coastal swims with island crossings and plenty of time over the reefs. These relatively shallow waters are full of life, from colourful reef fish to impressive bumphead parrotfish. Our local boat crew know the coastline inside out and can take us to some of their favourite hidden swimming spots. Even back at Sea Gypsy Village Resort, the house reef is only a few steps from the beach.
