TRIP OVERVIEW
The Coppa Byron swim race commemorates Lord Byron’s legendary swim across the Bay of Poets, next to Italy’s Cinque Terre National Park. Locals, overseas swimmers and literary lovers swim the 7½km between Portovenere and Lerici in this classic event. In 1822 Byron swam across the Gulf of Spezia to meet the poet Percy Shelley, who was living in the town of San Terenzo, in Lerici. Now you too can follow in Byron’s wake to swim the same crossing.
In addition to participation in this iconic swim you will enjoy a beautiful weekend in the sunny Italian Riviera and the picturesque seaside village of Lerici.

Aptly named the "Bay of Poets", nestled in the warm blue waters of the Italian Riviera, a few strokes away from the stunning Cinque Terre. An event for longer distance swimmers, which is an absolute must.
