Tour Highlights
Dive into informative group seminars and advanced open water training combined with in-depth video analysis. Refine your technique with experienced swim coaches, reinforced by their own extensive backgrounds in endurance swimming
Settle into a relaxing pace of life on the fishing island of Prvic – just a half mile from the coast. Your base is Prvić Luka, which is one of two small villages, serving as the perfect launching point for sea-based adventures
Explore the warm waters surrounding Prvić Island and meet the local sea life, including a colourful array of sponges, corals, and anemones, as well as dolphins and sea turtles too!
Enjoy a special nighttime swim experience, which is fantastic to build confidence for an English Channel solo crossing, or other long-distance swim with potentially unlit hours. You also have the option to take part in a six-hour qualification, or training swim
There are roughly 79 islands strewn along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast and we will visit some of our favourites as we also help to evolve your open water skills. Mostly we roam the warm waters around Prvić Island, spotting sponges, corals, and anemones as we go. You may also be joined at times by dolphins, sea turtles and large shoals of fish.
We've been supporting English Channel solo, relay, and other long distance event swimmers since 2006. Under the expert eyes of experienced SwimTrek coaches, you will have all the support you need to complete six days of intensive and adventurous open water training.
Whether you’re planning on swimming from England to France or building up to another long distance event, we understand exactly what you’re going through. We’ve been there before, and we know what it takes to prepare for such a challenge – our itineraries have also been carefully refined with your specific needs in mind.
If you are looking for other opportunities to train with like-minded swimmers, please explore our wide variety of Coaching Camps around the world.
While we support you to complete your required number of swimming hours, using circuit style routes, we will also use in-depth filming, video analysis and seminars to cover the following units*:

*We aim to cover as much applicable content as possible for each swimmer. You will be provided with additional resources and material to support the camp, but delivery may vary based on conditions and itinerary.
With expected water temperatures of 12-16°C (guide only), this trip includes an optional six-hour qualification swim for guests who are required to complete this prior to their English Channel swim, as well as an opportunity to experience a short night swim.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that water temperatures will be below the required level for your English Channel qualification swims, but we recommend booking earlier departures to increase the likelihood of the temperature being below 16°C.
Our accommodation on the island of Prvić Luka, Croatia and overlooks the marina so it is close to swim locations, helping to optimise the mix of training and relaxation time throughout your trip.
Please note that if you require a qualification swim to be ratified ahead of a big swim in 2025, please ensure that you bring a printed copy of the swim assessment form for your event (for example a Swim Assessment Form from the CSPF, CSA, JLDSC, etc.) with you. Provided your swim on the Channel & Long Distance Camp meets the requirements of the form, your SwimTrek coaches will be able to sign these for you on completion of the swim before the trip finishes.
Who is this camp for?
This trip is designed for the swimmer who is training for a challenging long distance open water swim. It is ideal for those planning to undertake a solo crossing of the English Channel, as the sea temperature should be between 12-16°C during the trip. Previous participants have also been in training for a North Channel crossing, as well the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim and a crossing of the Cook Strait. The camp features long open water training swims, mostly circuits in local bays, with full safety cover, as well as technique coaching and training seminars, over the course of the trip.
Swimmers should also have a good understanding of open water swimming, but swimming distances will vary for each swimmer as each swim is a given duration.
We have given this trip an ‘Ultra’ grading. These trips will push you to your physical and mental limits. Ideal for someone looking to take on a personal challenge.

Swim yourself satisfied, it won't be comfortable, but it will be very rewarding!
CLDT number 8 for me. This is the 'go-to' training camp for any planned long-distance events/ challenges. Whether you are a first timer or experienced swimmer, with is a great location to swim, with like-minded swimmers, supported by knowledgeable guides.
This was an amazing trip. Organization and logistics start to finish. Hotel and food fab. Guides perfect. I really upped my game all the way for my future swims. Merci!!
The perfect springboard into a long distance season. The guides were 5⭐️, and it was incredible to be surrounded by like-minded swimmers working towards similar goals. Hard work, but absolutely fantastic 💪
Great trip for anyone looking to do a channel or other long distance swim. Perfect way to get a lot of swimming in early in the season with help from knowledgeable guides in a fabulous location.
The most incredible and fulfilling experience with very experienced and inspiring guides and fellow swimmers.
I am a visually impaired swimmer and I was a little anxious as to how I would be able to manage. However the SwimTrek guides were fantastic, and made me feel very safe and confident and did all they could to make the swims accessible for me. I swam all the swims including the 6 hours and always felt safe and confident! Thank you so much!
I loved the Croatia Channel and LDT trip. Superb coaching, beautiful water, intense but deeply satisfying week of training. Swim mojo tip top full!
One of the best adventures in my life with wonderful people.
Fantastic experience both in and out of the water. Helped me realise my potential in a fun, encouraging and safe way. I’m now a proud long distance swimmer and looking forward to more experiences with SwimTrek in the future.
