Come Swim With Us At Latitude Festival!

By Jack Hudson , 19 May, 2022

Latitude Festival is back in 2022, and we are too! Book today and join us at Henham Lake for another morning series of adventure swims with our expert guides...

Staged in the forested grounds of Henham Park, Latitude Festival has been bringing happy music-lovers together for over 15 years. It's not just about the music either! Comedy, poetry, theatre, art, literature, wellness... and, of course, there's plenty of swimming too. This year, we're using the same formula that worked so well in 2021 and bringing in our seasoned guides to help you freshen up each morning and get your energy levels lifted for the day's events.

Your summer adventure awaits - take a look at the video below to see what happened last year:

What's new this year?

The festival gets underway on Thursday 22 July! You can take a look at the newly released Latitude Festival line-up here, with big names and much-loved artists (Alfie Templeman, for one!) still being added to the list each day. The Arts programme is filling up too and more performers are inbound at the Comedy stage. While headliners Lewis Capaldi, Foals and Snow Patrol will all be taking to the Obelisk Arena and drawing big crowds every evening.

As usual, main campsites will open earlier - campers can arrive from 8am on Thursday. We'd advise you to first stock up at the Village, where food traders and an on-site Co-Op (complete with resident DJ) are available. The Listening Post is a great stop for a quieter experience, where writers, podcasters, speakers and poets will all be in attendance for 2022. The area was supersized last year due to popular demand. It now sprawls out and spans the old Speakeasy. Music pours out among the trees from all directions. More underground bands and upcoming artists appear at the Sunrise Arena, as well as a few household names. Strictly Come Dancy is performed Suffolk style at the Latitude Ballroom, with instructor-led classes and you will also find film screenings in the park and a programme of talks given by visual artists.

Anyone who just wants to unwind can hit the Mind, Body and Zen area - where talks, meditation, workshops and spa treatments help festival goers to detach from the excitement. You can take part in multi-sensory activities to promote wellness and mental health. Another new addition from last year is the popular forest Workshop - a chance to learn new skills and benefit from the tutorage of master artisans. Expect everything from pottery to cartoon classes.

SwimTrek are back for more adventure swims!

Finally, we're delighted to say that we'll be back with friendly guides and staff from SwimTrek HQ, including our Founder, Simon Murie. This year, weekend ticket holders will be able to book our morning adventure swims, before the main acts get started. We'll be running our same adventure swims from 2021 in the cool morning waters of Henham Park Lake. Come join us, learn new abilities, gain strengths in open water and freshen up for the UK's Best Family Festival. You'll be able to follow our safety escort around the 2km course and soak up both the supervision and advice of our expert guides. You can also meet and trade stories with fellow open water swimmers from all over the UK.

All abilities are welcome, whether you're planning to swim longer distance around the lake, or if you're simply looking for technique feedback and advice - this event is perfect for you. Paddlers will have a chance to roam and enjoy freshwater swimming as well! Wetsuits are recommended for anyone who isn't used to lake swimming at less than 17°C.

What's included?

  • Access to the SwimTrek swim course in the Henham Park Lake, outside the buoyed area
  • A chance to have the lake to yourselves and be the first in the water each morning
