This month, our SwimTrek guides returned to the sunlit sands of Colonia St. Jordi for another camp of training, bonding and refresher sessions...
Before our Peak Season gets underway, we've been back to uphold our new favourite tradition of getting all our guides and staff together in Mallorca. Every aspect of guiding was covered to prepare for our busiest run of trips around the world.
During the camp, our staff from SwimTrek HQ led practical and classroom-based sessions with both new and returning guides. The atmosphere of peer-learning allowed us to share skills and build strong bonds in and out the water.
As you can see from these incredible photos, taken by our guide Thomas Oliver, the water-loving culture we've built over the years at SwimTrek has never been stronger. Guides were working closely together and the communal love of what we do was on display. These are the people who make your adventures truly special.

Smooth Operations
As always, our Operations team was out in full force to keep the training camp running smoothly. They continued to share our vision of responsible travel, empowering guides and guests to act as stewards for the beautiful places we visit.
Our award-winning calendar of 2026 adventures will include over 87 trips in 27 countries, from the Bahamas to Indonesia. This requires a behind-the-scenes support network, working closely with our founder, Simon Murie, from the seafront Brighton headquarters at SwimTrek HQ.
This close-kit team of swimmers and logisticians serve as our control hub. Not only do they get our guides to-and-from locations, but they also work diligently to transfer equipment, schedule itineraries, and manage the surprises of everyday troubleshooting.
New & Returning Guides
There will be fresh faces looking after you as you fly off to the world's best waters this year and next. We ran sessions on boat skills and first aid refreshers, as well as putting our guides through an enjoyable boot camp. We tested them in a variety of scenarios above and below water, developing skills with a variety of support crafts.
Intensive training took place in varying environments, efficiently run with a colour-coded 15-minute increment schedule, packed with hands-on experiences. This culminated in new guides embarking on our popular 'swimulation' run by the returning guides. It's a great way to celebrate fresh relationships and put into practice any skills we've developed together.
Final Ceremony
The training camp ended with its usual splash. The passing out ceremony invited new recruits into the SwimTrek family. Each guide is splashed, clapped and finally dunked by a tunnel of supporters - the perfect introduction to their new life aquatic. This is our kind of initiation!
'My highlight of the week – one I will carry with me always – was the graduation ‘Capping’ ceremony. Walking through the tunnel of experienced guides and a friendly dunk at the end, being welcomed by the community in that way, brought tears to my eyes..." - New SwimTrek Guide'
Like all our SwimTrek trips, we finished the camp with an evening of fun before everyone flew back to their home countries. New friends were made, and a collective team effort was executed brilliantly. Special thanks to Sally, Telle, Amy, April, Lydia and Reggie for their hard work in onboarding a fantastic group of guides for this forthcoming season.
We are thrilled the growing family of SwimTrekkers is getting bigger ever year!
