Biography

I grew up swimming in the fresh water lakes of Northern Ontario in the summer and playing waterpolo in the winter, then shifted to ocean swimming as an adult, first in the Atlantic, now in the Pacific. Notable swims? I've completed the historic 8 mile Boston Light Swim a few times as well as the 12.5 mile Swim Around Key West (once was enough for that one!). Since moving to Honolulu, I've competed in the Waikiki Roughwater Swim as well as the lesser known "Double Roughwater" held primarily for locals in December. Last summer I swam the 17-mile stretch of the remote Na Pali Coast, the north shore of the island of Kauai. I've become decidedly a warm water swimmer and much prefer long swimming challenges/adventure to shorter races.
