Where we stay
The 4-star Hotel Sur Bacalar is our accommodation for the NEW 2026 trip to Bacalar, Mexico. The hotel is in a prime location not far from Cenote Azul - just a 10-minute drive away. The Mercado Municipal de Bacalar Market is also within walking distance, as well as the Balneario Ecologico Public Beach.
Rooms enjoy a mixture of garden and pool views, nestled in leafy surrounds. Notable features include: flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, air conditioners, bathrooms fitted with bathtubs, and a shower, along with guest toiletries and bath sheets.
The Accommodation
Our allocation is based on a mixture of double and twin shares with en-suite bathroom facilities. There are a limited number of single supplement rooms which can be reserved during the booking process, subject to availability.

All breakfasts are included in your package and all lunches during your swim days are included. The lunch on your day off and all dinners are at your own expense, giving you the a fantastic opportunity to explore the menus and experience the local restaurants of your choice over the course of your trip.

Dietary Requirements
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking. There is a section to complete within the profile details of your SwimTrek account requesting dietary requirements, which will also allow you to notify us of any dietary preferences.
While we will do our best to accommodate these requests, due to the remote location of many of our trips, this cannot always be guaranteed, and allergens may be present. Should this be a cause for concern, and you have no safe solution available please reconsider your intent to travel.
If you have either a requirement or preference for specific food or drinks which may be difficult to source on location, we strongly recommend bringing these with you.
