Biography

Swim history I was a splash and dash competitive masters swimmer. Fly and backstroke, until a shoulder injury forced a stop about 10/12 years ago. So I started to swim in the sea in my home town of Bournemouth, and had a shoulder replacement. I was invited to swim in a relay around the Isle of Wight and that was the start. I have swum in 4 channel relays, from 6 people in 2013 to a 2 person 2 way (to France and back) in august 2016. The gangsta grannies! A nod to David Walliams. In 2017, the Ladies of the lake (3 of us) will swim lake Geneva. Most memorable moment August 2016 during the Gangsta Grannies relay. The sea was like silk, no wind, early morning mist as the sun rose. We saw dolphins, seals and entered a sort of Zen like state. Amazing experience. Top swimming tip Technique is king, keep practising those drills. Interesting fact I love swimming in cold water, and swim all year round off the beach in Bournemouth... no wetsuit!
