SwimTrek presents the 1.5 km Swim Round the Pier in conjunction with Paddle Round the Pier Festival and Brighton Tri Club.

Join us on a beautiful swim around the iconic remains of Brighton's West Pier, finishing on the beach in the middle of the Paddle Village on Hove Lawns. It's a great opportunity for both experienced and inexperienced sea swimmers as well as earning you bragging rights for completing a swim around Brighton’s most iconic Pier, giving you a swimmers’ view of Hove’s classic seafront architecture in the process!

This year's event is being organised and run by our friends at Brighton Tri Club, and you can register for the event on their website:

If you'd like to take on a bigger challenge, there is the option of the BriTri Palace to Paddle 2.5 km swim and the Sea Lanes 3.8 km Paddle Swim Classic.

Who is this event for?

All abilities are welcome on this swim. Conditions during the event may be challenging and swimmers should have a good understanding of open water swimming. They should be capable of swimming 1½ km in the open water and be comfortable swimming in choppy waters and currents prior to the start of the trip.

  • Entry into the annual Swim Around The Pier
  • Full safety escort on all swims

The safety of our swimmers is our number one priority. An event like this is somewhat at the mercy of the elements, with this in mind organisers reserve the right to vary the course if necessary. In the unlikely event that both the scheduled swim and the Sunday back-up slot are cancelled by the event organisers (due to sea conditions being too unstable), a 50% refund will be given to entrants.
