SwimTrek is the world’s leading open-water swimming holiday company and offers tours to over 40 worldwide locations. With a high repeat rate, we already have thousands of satisfied customers. And we want even more. You will be leading the Marketing Team. Ensuring that all tours are promoted through all channels on & offline, your role is to make us more famous in every possible segment, from the curious open water swimmer to the dedicated open water athlete, in the UK, Europe, Australia, NZ and the USA.

We are looking for a quality Head of Marketing to join our team, based in our offices in Brighton.

About the role

The role holds ultimate responsibility for the organisations marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business.

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop and implement a clearly defined 5-year strategy/plan for new and existing business.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate the company’s digital marketing activities, including all content (written and visual), user experience, SEO, paid, display and all social platforms.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate the company’s offline marketing strategy - including, branding, events, merchandise, PR and advertising.
  • Campaign optimisation – Discipline of measuring ROI of each activity, continually evaluating performance and seeking optimal results.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends whilst monitoring all markets (existing and new).
  • Create and manage all 3rd party partner relationships within, as well as external to, the adventure travel market.
  • Implement and manage a CRM system that improves customer relations and retention.
  • Collaborating with web site developers to enhance the online user experience and improve conversion rates.
  • Management of agreed budgets whilst achieving balance between resource, budget & activity.
  • Manage a team of in-house and external subject specialists ensuring they meet commercial objectives.

You will report in to the Managing Director of SwimTrek.

Personal Profile

  • Previous experience in a similar online marketing role - retailer, B2C etc. plus a proven record in taking a business to the next level.
  • Strong strategic awareness and execution. Able to identify the key challenges and problems and then create a plan to tackle them and fuel planned growth. Must be solution-led.
  • Can track ROI and evolve the tactics as results change. Excellent analytic & reporting skills essential plus a high level of commercial awareness.
  • Has good technical digital knowledge and a track record of running the marketing operations for an online retail business including experience in managing ecommerce, SEO, PPC, Email marketing, and social media.
  • Experience in marketing leadership and not just management.
  • Experience in offline traditional marketing, ideally in conjunction with digital channels including PR and dealing with journalists
  • Knows where to get the right answers – even if they don’t know them themselves.
  • Has a desire to self-learn, seeks new opportunities and is aware of current and future trends.
  • Desire to increase penetration in specific countries and is a proven international marketer.
  • Experience in branding, merchandise and/or retail
  • Experience in managing budgets and being creative with spend
  • Able to delegate and manage in-house and external subject specialists
  • Has a passion for Adventure travel and understands the market sector.
