All our guides have the best training available. They are trained in open water specific courses run by the Royal Life Saving Society, the UK governing body for lifesaving and lifeguarding.

Simon Murie

...founded SwimTrek, after spending many years organising open water swimming trips for himself. A solo English Channel Swimmer and swim coach, he leads many of the tours himself.

John Coningham-Rolls

...an experienced open water swimmer, with solo crossings of the English Channel and around Manhattan Island to his name, he is also an IronMan triathlete.

Suzie Dods

...when not running a SwimTrek trip, Suzie can be found in San Francisco swimming daily in the Bay. Suzie has swum in various locations  throughout the world, from Lake Zurich to a solo crossing of the English Channel.

Hans Fiedeldeij

...based in Munich, Hans runs our Bavarian tours as well as some of our Mediterranean trips too.

He can often be found swimming in the Bavarian lakes, all year round!

Simon Owen

...an experienced swim coach, both in Europe and Australia, Simon is passionate about swim teaching. He completed the crossing of the British Isle's second largest lake, Lough Erne in 2005.

Gill Strawberry

...with crossings of the Straits of Gibraltar and a number of firsts in South African long distance swimming Gill is an experienced open water swimmer.

Nick Adams

...youngest person ever to swim the English Channel 2 ways at 18. Nick has also swum to Rottnest Island in Western Australia, around Manhattan Island and a number of other swims around the world.

...with over 365 Alcatraz "escapes", Gary also has swum the Amazon (along with piranhas) and Loch Ness as well as relay crossings of the English Channel, Straits of Gibraltar and Catalina Channel.

Georgina Bowden

...From crossing Scottish Lochs, swimming along the rugged Irish west coast, to going down Tasmanian rivers, Georgina simply loves outdoor swimming. She specialises in both our Croatia and Malta tours.

Martin Coombes

...a daily swimmer in the North Sea off Kent's east coast, Martin is a prolific open water swimmer having competed in a number of swims around Europe. He was a competitor in the 2004 World Swimming Masters.
