Gozo, Comino & Malta

Itinerary and Map

Saturday

You can check into your room and relax before meeting the assembled group for drinks and a pre-trip safety briefing in which the guides will detail the weekly plan.

Sunday

You will start the day with a quick acclimatisation swim so the guides can arrange you into speed groups before you swim out from Xlendi and head along dramatic coastline to Fungus Rock by Dwerja Bay. After lunch your swim stroke will be videoed for analysis later in the evening, and following this we walk back from the Azure Window to Xlendi.

Monday

We take the boat from Xlendi and take it to Gozo’s south east corner to begin our first island hop to the island of Comino. On arrival into the picturesque St Maria Bay we stop for lunch. Following this, we follow along the north side of Comino as we swim to the Blue Lagoon.

Tuesday

Up early as we begin our full boat trip around the island of Gozo, with plenty of time to take in some significant coastal swims, including the stunning Azure Window, dramatic Inlnd Sea and the beautiful Ramla beach.

Wednesday

The day of our signature crossing from Gozo to Malta. As we swim we pass the imposing Elephant Rock. There’s time for a long rest and substantial lunch to recharge before heading back to Xlendi to relax.

Thursday

We take the boat from Gozo to Malta and then take transport to Gnejna Bay on Malta’s west coast. From here we swim to Golden Bay passing Karraba peninsular as we go. After a stop in Golden Bay we then walk across the island of Malta finishing at St Paul’s Bay finishing off with a swim here. Then it’s back to Gozo for a sunset swim before looking back at the days activities.

Friday

A day at your leisure. Maybe pop down with the group to discover some more bays or perhaps a bit of sightseeing around more of Gozo enchanting interior.

Caveat 2010

For obvious safety reasons we rely on decent weather conditions when carrying out any crossings. As a consequence, open water swimming does require an inherent degree of on-trip flexibility, so required changes in the planned itinerary will not be uncommon and will undoubtedly add to the uniqueness of each tour

Swimming Caveat 2010

Swimming in the sea is a fantastic experience, but you need to be aware of certain marine life such as jellyfish, sea urchins and coral. These could be present during a swim, so in all cases we will work on minimising their occurrence. In the event you are stung by jellyfish, in most cases you can normally carry on swimming. However, if you do have a problem, we can assess/treat the affected area immediately on the escort boat. If this area continues to cause discomfort and/or becomes infected during or after the tour, you should seek medical attention immediately explaining the nature of the cause. Please ensure you contact us prior to booking if you suffer from Anaphylaxis.
