Simon founded SwimTrek after spending many years organising open water swimming trips for himself and others. A solo English Channel swimmer and swim coach, he is always going to new destinations to find more SwimTrek locations.

Dewi is a triathlon coach, races at all distances up to and including Ironman and is involved with organising expeditions and challenge events. He has a passion for introducing and developing peoples ability.

Joined us from Adelaide, Australia in 2009. He is a very experienced pool swimmer who has competed in breaststroke at a high level, but is enjoying his new passion of open water swimming.

Swimming competitively from the age of six and nicknamed 'The Mermaid', Mia believes she could definitely swim before she could walk and probably spends more time in the water than out of it!

‘Known as ‘Mr Alcatraz’ Gary has done the world famous ‘escape’ over 760 times. But he is not only limited to San Francisco. in the 21 years since he started open water swimming Gary has completed an incredible list of swims.

Growing up on the Turkish Mediterranean coast, from an early age Huseyin was enjoying coastal swims with friends and has carried this on as an adult. Huseyin has a wealth of knowledge to pass on. 

Having been a competitive swimmer for 20 years and representing Canada at the Sydney Olympics, Lauren took a break and came on our Virgin Islands tour as a guest. She enjoyed the trip so much, she applied to be a guide!

Joins us from Sydney, Australia to be part of the Swim Trek Team, relatively new to this sport, Yves believes open water swimming is in his blood coming from mixed Australian and Vanuatu origins. 

A former marathon runner whose life changed when he caught his first glimpse of the English Channel from the air. A solo Channel Swimmer who brings a wealth of open water experience to our trips. 

Born and raised in New Zealand Dan’s first proper deep water swim took place at age 2 years; in the diving well at the local swimming centre when his parents weren’t looking! He has never looked back.   

Andy took up open water swimming at the tender age of 34 entering his first event, the Inter-Services Open Water Championships, in which he won the breast-stroke event. 

Having grown up in the southern part of Germany, Birgit quite often swims in the Bavarian Lakes and Lake Constance area. An experienced scuba diver she turned more and more to open water swimming during the last few years. 

Holds the world record as the youngest swimmer to complete a 2-way swim of the English Channel, aged just 18! He has also completed a phenomenal number of swims around the world 

Thomas comes from and lives in the northern part of Italy, where he discovered open water swimming some years ago after mountaineering for several years. Once hooked he swam in open waters around Europe.

Being one of the only people who can claim to have swam the coastlines of all 44 of the Italian islands, not many people know the water of Italy like he does! 

Trish joins us from Ireland where she is one of the country's top lifesavers. A keen swimmer, Trish now specialises in the sport of lifesaving. She has trained both in Ireland and Australia.

A keen open water swimmer and works predominantly in water safety.  She has been a beach lifeguard for over 20 years and is a Royal Lifesaving Society National Coach.

Neil went on his first Swimtrek holiday in 2009 to Croatia and became hooked on the sport virtually immediately and decided he wanted to join us as a guide. 

Swimming his whole life, but his passion for swimming and especially the cold water began in Finlands river of Oulu when he was only 8 years old. He has been a regular feature on our Finnish Lakes tour.

Mike is an experienced; fully qualified swimming teacher/club coach and open water specialist, providing high quality swim coaching at Tooting Bec Lido and on the SwimTrek coaching tours.
