 An unknown threat to a lot of open water swimmers can sneak up on you over time especially if you enjoy swimming during the colder months wearing a wetsuit. This is a slow process were the bone around the ear canal develops growths that slowly block the canal.

The effects can range from loss or limited hearing and chronic ear infections but while it can sometimes be treated, there can be a lot of complications and prevention is the best way.
