Nicknamed 'The Mermaid', Mia believes she could definitely swim before she could walk and probably spends more time in the water than out of it! Swimming competitively from the age of six, Mia's achievements in the pool include swimming at international level and holding a South African record in breaststroke.

Her swimming prowess extends beyond the pool and into the sea, where she has been a trained beach lifeguard for a number of years, enjoys surfing and free-diving and is a qualified scuba-diver.

Having been the lead guide in Croatia for 3 years, Mia's knowledge of the area is second to none, while her absolute love for teaching and belief that there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a swimmer take their first few strokes, is sure to come across during the video analysis sessions.

Now in her third year with Swimtrek and having led both the Croatian and Egyptian tours, Mia says it's her love for swimming and the sea and her absolute passion for being a guide that make every day a special one!
